Pelotonia Riders Inspired to Get Involved

Peter Shields was a cancer researcher at Georgetown University during the first two Pelotonia rides. He was recruited by the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and eventually accepted the position as deputy director. “One of the reasons I moved here was because of Pelotonia,” he said. “When I was trying to evaluate high-quality institutions, one criteria was community support, and the growth of Pelotonia showed me how much people loved the James.” Shields has taken part in the past three rides, and this year, three members of his lab rode with him.
