Academic Advising

As Learning Community Faculty Advisor (8/10 - 5/14), I arranged and lead monthly meetings with a group of 12 medical students to discuss issues such as coping with stress, career exploration, optimizing their time in medical school, etc. Meetings began during orientation to medical school and continue throughout their four years.

As a Portfolio Coach (8/12 - present), I meet formally with 8 students individually every 2 months throughout the academic year and review their current performance with them. Additional responsibilities include reviewing reflective assignments and assisting in their development of skills on practice-based and life-long learning. Students include Elizabeth Maxwell, Karin Miller, Leah Marsh, Paul Paetow, Stephen Jaeger, Joel Guess, Fernando Santos, and Tyler Qiu.
