Dr. Kauffman’s professional interests include sepsis guidelines, HIV in Latino populations, community development in underserved areas, and international public health.

Dr. Kauffman's primary specialty is Hospital Medicine and secondary is Emergency Medicine.

Professional Highlights

Dr. Kauffman received her undergraduate degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego; her Master of Public Health degree from The Ohio State University; and her medical degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she completed a predoctoral fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy. Dr. Kauffman completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where she served as Chief Resident for one year. Her hobbies include international travel, all outdoor activities, gardening, reading, cooking, playing with her pups, binge online shoe shopping, and watching a movie in a cold theater on a hot day.
