Residency Program

WELCOME

The Ohio State University Department of Internal Medicine provides a unique and dynamic learning environment for residents, stressing the importance of clinical excellence and dedication to scholarship.

As one of the original 17 programs selected in 2005 for the ACGME Educational Innovations Project, our faculty and residents have grown accustomed to being actively involved in reshaping residency education for the future.  Lessons learned from Internal Medicine EIP programs helped form the basis for many of the features of the ACGME’s NAS (Next Accreditation System) currently being rolled out in all residency programs across the US.

We invite you to learn more about our residency program, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and the city of Columbus through our website, or through this brief overview. Be sure to also visit the OSU Graduate Medical Education website.

We look forward to meeting you during your visit.

Sincerely -

Michael Grever, MD                          David Wininger, MD
Department Chair                             Residency Program Director

Columbus, Ohio, has been named the 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). ICF is a think tank that studies the economic and social development of 21st century communities. Columbus was selected from more than 400 cities around the world after a year-long evaluation process that included quantitative analysis of extensive data, site inspections by the ICF and votes from an international jury of experts. Cities under consideration were judged on broadband connectivity, knowledge workforce, innovation, digital inclusion and marketing and advocacy. Ohio State played a key role in the selection process. The ICF committee praised the university’s partnership with the city and cited initiatives such as broadband access, autonomous vehicle research, precision agriculture, health care and data analytics.
