Esophageal Disorders

The OSU Wexner Medical Center is dedicated to diagnosing and treating disorders of the esophagus. We have a dedicated group of physicians and many of our patients with precancerous conditions can be successfully treated using non-surgical, endoscopic techniques instead of major surgery. If needed, we collaborate closely with our surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists. Patients are commonly referred for evaluation of heartburn, regurgitation, asthma, chronic cough, voice disorders and throat symptoms felt to be due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s Esophagus, early esophageal cancer, as well as symptoms of difficulty swallowing.
