Biographical

Andrea I. Doseff, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Molecular Genetics, The Ohio State University. Dr. Doseff received his bachelor’s degree from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She obtained her PhD from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York working in cell cycle regulation and completed her postdoc in apoptosis. Dr. Doseff joined The Ohio State University as an Assistant Professor in 2002 and she currently leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists who focus on understanding how cells die. Her group is especially interested in elucidating the molecular mechanisms that control cell fate in the immune system. In addition, her group investigates the anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic mechanisms of flavonoids. Her findings have been published in Genetics, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biochemical Pharmacology, and Journal of Immunology among others. She serves as a reviewer for several journals. She serves on National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation study sections and she is a co-chair of the American Heart Association study section. She has an active teaching program funded by NSF, NIH , AHA, and grants for education and training from NSF and NIH.
