The OSU COPD Clinical Research Center is actively involved in research aimed at improving the quality of life for patients with COPD (COPD = emphysema and/or chronic bronchitis).
We are involved in trials evaluating new therapies such as lung volume reduction surgery and new drugs for COPD, as well as trials evaluating exercise and pulmonary rehabilitation as treatments for COPD.
Our trials are aimed at both improving patient’s quality of life as well as basic science studies of the causes of lung damage in COPD patients.
The COPD Clinical Research Center is under the direction of Philip Diaz, MD.
