Mike was born in England but moved to the U.S. at an early age. His father was in the U.S. Air Force, so his family lived in several areas across the country. He spent his high school years in Kentucky and played soccer for his high school team.
After high school, he attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in chemistry. Mike then completed his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Mike is a passionate UK Wildcats fan and has a UK themed basement to prove it.
Mike moved from Lexington to Columbus to start his residency in internal medicine at OSU. After residency, he worked as a hospitalist at OSU for a year prior to fellowship. During residency, Mike quickly became indoctrinated into Buckeye football. He also has an interest in Columbus’s major league soccer team The Crew.
Mike’s clinical interest is in critical care. He currently serves on both the MICU Oversight Committee and the medical center’s Critical Care Quality Management Committee. He is also a member of the American Thoracic Society’s Clinicians Advisory Committee.
