Research Interests

  • Intracellular adaptation to acute stress exposure in respiratory skeletal and cardiac muscle cells. 
  • Long term adaptations to intermittent hypoxia and chronic nocturnal hypoxia, particularly in skeletal and cardiac muscle.   
  • Development of new methods of detection of redox behavior in intact organisms
  • Underlying mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
