The Research Fellowship in Nephrology can be tailored to the specific interest of the fellow. Opportunities for clinical research abound with fellow participation in ongoing clinical trials or the development of new studies. In addition, interested fellows can gain further experience with inpatient and outpatient Nephrology problems by electing to spend more time on the inpatient services or in the outpatient clinics or dialysis facilities.

Basic research opportunities include the opportunity to work with various animal models of renal disease, projects involving cell culture techniques and molecular biologic studies, including molecular cloning and DNA sequencing.
