Center for Microbial Interface Biology (CMIB)

Interdisciplinary Center for Research in Infectious Diseases/Pathogenesis

What is the CMIB and what are its goals?

The Center for Microbial Interface Biology (CMIB) is a new interdisciplinary program at The Ohio State University focused on research in Infectious Diseases, Pathogenesis, and Bioterrorism. The Center’s goal is to conduct broad biological sciences research involved in the complex study of microbe-host interactions. CMIB collaborates with investigators from across the OSU campus who represent the fields of cell biology, pathology, biochemistry and pharmacology, microbiology, genetics, structural biology, and bioinformatics.

Investigation includes in vitro studies, animal studies, genomics, proteinomics, and population-based studies. The Center is currently focused on respiratory infectious diseases, intracellular parasitism, and granulomatous inflammation. Click here to visit the CMIB web site.
