Pelotonia 12 Brings 4-Year Total to More Tham $42 Million

Pelotonia, the fourth installment of an annual grassroots bicycle tour that raises millions of dollars for cancer research at the OSUCCC – James, has raised more than $42 million in the four years since it began in 2009. Riders and donors in Pelotonia 12 raised a record $16.8 million, a 28-percent increase over the Pelotonia 11 total of $13.1 million. Pelotonia 12, which took place Aug. 10-12 on routes between Columbus and Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, drew a record 6,212 riders, as well as 3,141 virtual riders and more than 2,000 volunteers. Thanks to the generosity of a few truly committed community sponsors who underwrite the costs of Pelotonia, 100% of every dollar raised by riders and donors goes directly to fund cancer research at Ohio State.
