Clinical, Educational and Research Advances in Human Genetics
The Division of Human Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine is an academic unit that provides outpatient and inpatient consultation service, performs clinical and translational research and participates in medical center and community education and outreach. We invite you to explore these pages to see how the Division can meet your clinical, education and research needs.
Patient Care
Each year the Clinical Cancer Genetics Program provides comprehensive risk assessments and cancer genetic counseling to approximately 200 families. The Division has also established partnerships with the Mt. Carmel Health System, Zanesville's Genesis Healthcare System, and Ohio Heath to provide cancer genetics services to their patients. As well as ensuring comprehensive patient care in cancer genetics in central Ohio, this partnership enhances accrual to our cancer genetics research protocols.
Also, the division has initiated a unique Medical Genetics Program targeting adult onset disorders.
