Key achievements: Participation in the blood donation camp and free medical camp in the local community. Responsibilities included educating the public about safety of blood products and blood transfusion.

Key achievements: Participation in the Eye camps held by the organization. Responsibility included conducting health checks for the public and conducting eye examination. Major responsibility included educating the patients on diabetic complications and counseling them on prevention strategies.

Key achievements: Medical director for this free screening medical camp , which was served by 7 internist, gynecologist, pediatrician, opthalmologist. was able to reach out to more then 100 people who did not have any access to medical care.

Research focusing on prevention of cerebro vascular events in elderly population with kidney dysfunction. Preliminary project was accepted for oral presentation at American College of Physicians, national conference at San Diego and Society of General Internal Medicine, conference at New Orleans and is published as abstract in Journal of Investigative Medicine.

Crisafi Monti Grant reciepient for Primary Care research.

To determine the pathophysiology and implication of diabetes and chronic vascular disease states in altering the cascade of inflammatory cytokine production in blood monocyte and adipose tissue macrophage. This would eventually lead to identifying novel inflammatory pathways in development of diabetes mellitus and vascular diseases in elderly population

Establishment of the Tissue Procurement Core Facility (TPF) to support and enhance vascular and Diabetes related clinical ,translational, and basic science research. I anticipate that the TPF will generate a number of new and novel researches that would strive at improving vascular and diabetes management in our Elderly population
