Dr. Thomas Ryan is the John G. & Jeanne Bonnet McCoy Chair, Professor of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of The Ohio State University Heart Center.  Dr. Ryan is an experienced researcher, emphasizing the application of cutting-edge echocardiographic techniques to clinical diagnosis.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is currently president of the American Society of Echocardiography. He has served as associate editor of American Heart Journal and the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography and has authored or coauthored more than 200 published articles, book chapters and abstracts. He is coauthor of Feigenbaum’s Echocardiography, the leading textbook in the field of cardiovascular ultrasound. He has participated in more than 30 funded research projects, delivered more than 140 invited lectures throughout the world, and has mentored numerous cardiology fellows and doctoral students in cardiovascular imaging research.

Dr. Ryan came to OSU in July, 2007, from the Duke University Medical Center, where he served as Professor of Medicine, Vice Chief for Clinical Services, and Director of the Duke Heart Center.
