Dr. Carl Leier is professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and professor of Pharmacology in the Department of Pharmacology. Dr. Leier, who has been practicing medicine for nearly 35 years, is well respected among his peers and is a member of the editorial boards of 13 peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Cardiology and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the review boards of over 20 other such publications, including New England Journal of Medicine and Circulation. He is active on several hospital and community committees and is a member or fellow of nearly 15 professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is a founding member of the Heart Failure Society of America.

 

Experience

Dr. Leier has been practicing medicine for more than three decades and has been instructing at The Ohio State University, in both Cardiology and Pharmacology, since 1976. He is widely published and has served as guest editor for peer-reviewed publications.
