Dr. Garrie Haas is director of the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit and associate professor of clinical medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Haas has been involved in nearly 100 research protocols since 1989, including Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator for grants at The Ohio State University, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Riverside Methodist Hospital. His articles and abstracts have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation, American Heart Journal, Journal of Heart Lung Transplant and Journal of American College of Cardiology. He has authored or co-authored chapters in books such as Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine and has also provided a number of reviews. Dr. Haas is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several other professional societies, including the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. A frequent presenter, Dr. Haas has lectured at meetings of the American Federation for Clinical Research and American College of Cardiology.
Experience
Dr. Haas has been practicing medicine for nearly 15 years and returns to OSU Medical Center after having served as director, Heart Failure Disease Management Program at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to that Dr. Haas was director of the Heart Failure Intensive Care Unit and an attending cardiologist in the section of heart failure and cardiac transplantation at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has previously served as acting medical director of the Heart Transplant Program at OSU.
