COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center has recruited Drs. Stanislaw Stawicki (43235) and Melissa Whitmill (43017) as emergency general surgeons and surgical intensivists.
Stawicki is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network at Temple University, and completed a traumatology and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine. His clinical interests include trauma, surgical critical care and emergency surgery and his research interests include geriatric trauma and the role of co-morbidities in trauma. A member of many professional societies, including the American Medical Association and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, Stawicki has received numerous honors and has published multiple studies in various peer reviewed journals.
Whitmill is a graduate of Wright State University’s School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Wright State University and a surgical critical care fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She is board certified in surgery. Her expertise includes trauma, surgical critical care and emergency surgery and her research interests include clinical outcomes in trauma patients and traumatic brain injury. She is a member of many professional societies including the American Medical Association and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
